CORA ALLEN

I write clean, contemporary romance, women’s fiction, and journals - all with a Christian bent and a sense of humor. I’ve published short stories, humorous essays, and magazine articles, but my first love is romance. When I’m not writing, I’m an avid thrift store shopper and a Top-Rated Seller on Ebay. I’ve also worked as a copywriter, TV producer, travel agent, and stay-at-home-mom. Sadly, my career as a swimsuit model never took off.
I lost my husband to brain cancer a few years ago, and I believe life’s greatest lessons are learned through adversity. My experience taught me to trust God always - especially when it’s hard and life doesn’t make sense. Then, dream a new dream. There are great joys waiting up ahead!
I make my home in Kansas City, MO. I have two grown kids, one fat cat, and I’m addicted to Skittles. There, I said it.
That’s enough about me. Check out my books and journals. I hope you find something you like!
SARA BRUNSVOLD

My vision is to share the stories that speak with relevancy and God’s Truth into the lives of women. Stories can reach into hidden corners of hearts in unique ways, and I love to both read and write stories that stir something within me.
I’m particularly fond of stories that build generational bridges. There is something so, so special about bonds between people of two different generations outside of a parent-child relationship. In fact, it’s biblical.
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. – Titus 2:3-5
If you like stories that speak too, then let’s stay in touch, because, sister friend, we were meant to know each other!
I would delight in meeting you. Please feel free to reach out to me via the Contact page.
I appreciate you greatly.
With sincerity,
RUTH ANNE BURRELL, VICE PRESIDENT
RuthAnneBurrell.com
Hello, my name is Ruth Anne Burrell (for my bylines), or Ruthie (for everything else), and I am a story-aholic.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved stories. When I was a toddler, I made my parents read certain books to me so many times that I memorized them, convincing both myself and my Sunday school teachers that I could read. When I was a little older, I devoured stories on my own, checking out 10 to 20 books at a time from our local library. For the most part, I stuck with popular modern fiction, but occasionally, I grew overly ambitious, attempting classics such as Ivanhoe and Ben Hur at age 12.
I started writing my own stories when I was 8. Most of them were laugh-out-loud awful, but thanks to my patient and optimistic parents, I kept writing. When I was 18, I moved nine hours and 600 miles away from my home in Kansas to study professional writing at Taylor University, in the tiny, cornfield-surrounded town of Upland, Indiana. I’ve written articles, reviews, devotions, essays, short stories, poems, and novels, some for publication and some for myself.
After five years in Indiana, I’ve clicked my heels and come home to Kansas. And I’ve discovered that, in the end, stories are still what capture my imagination and my heart. With that in mind, I’m setting out on the adventure that is Stories That Bind

L. SANDERS (LOIS) FIELDS
Lois Fields pursued RN studies, has worked in management in the corporate world, and has been the wife of a pastor. She studied French, some Spanish and less Italian. She’s a member of SCBWI, ACFWA, and KCWCW and writes as L Sanders Fields. She has written four MA books, several adult short stories (fiction), lots of poetry, and a few lyrics. She finds it surprising and inspiring watching characters develop, their names appear, and the setting evolve inspired by the title.
Lois and her husband live in Lenexa, KS. They both enjoy serving at a local outreach ministry that helps Christians find greater freedom through forgiveness. When not at the keyboard or doing something with living things like her 35-year old Ficus tree, Lois is frequently doing her 5-mile run/walk. She finds it essential to get away occasionally and has enjoyed Europe and the Caribbean a few times, Hawaii once, as well as most of the USA. When traveling, the beach beckons with an essential chaise lounge facing the Gulf, a good book and a restaurant to drift into later. She thrills to end the day walking the beach before sunset. Lois is on Facebook, Twitter, and Snap Chat as L Sanders Fields, and plans to have a web site soon.

LURA K. (KATY) HOUK
LKHouk.com
L.K. Houk has written for years: mostly for her own amusement. Indeed, she wrote Tom T.’s Tale, the genesis of her Down Home on the Farm series, nearly 40 years ago. She somehow knew that the Down Home series was meant to be - sooner or later! And the stories kept right on coming!
A wife, mom, homemaker, grandmother, she has done office work, been a Curves trainer, and volunteered as a cheerleading coach, evangelism lay leader, and ministry partner. Her husband is a retired military officer. Together they have done extraordinary things such as, managing a 5,000 acre water buffalo ranch, managing a 20,000 capacity laying hen operation, and raising registered Missouri Foxtrotter horses. They have owned and run a buggy shop and a landscape service, raised cattle and horses, and begun an international ministry which worked with orphans in the Philippines, orphans in Uganda, and the war-wounded in Sierra Leone.
She has one son, one daughter, two “adopted” (war-wounded) daughters from Sierra Leone, and eight grandchildren. The Houks live in rural Kansas.
J ROBERT JOHNSON
J. Robert Johnson has been a high school choral director, entrepreneur, business associate and is presently an author and freelance writer. JANENE ROTHWELL, SECRETARY
Coming Soon
Janene Rothwell is a Kansas photographer and writer who loves to play in garden dirt. She has three amazing daughters, their husbands, and several adorable grandchildren.
Her life has been a whirlwind of adventure which she blames on that moment she asked Jesus into her heart and fell in love with Him so completely that nothing will ever measure up to just being in His presence. She has discovered that writing gripping stories about fictional people in challenging circumstances allows her the unique opportunity of sharing over and over again the wonder of a life that is forever altered by His touch. Her life verse is Hebrews 12:2, "Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith!".
